Happy to finance the NHS at the cost of overseas aid

Mel Stride, a junior Treasury minister, tells us that “everybody in their different ways [would be] paying a little bit more” to finance the National Health Service (“ Fuel tax rise would be ‘madness’ says Tory MP”, July 4). I, and I suspect many others, would be willing to do so, but would like to “pay a little bit less” to finance overseas aid. If that takes primary legislation, then, politicians, get to it.
