Final: Georgia 34, Kentucky 17

6:50 p.m.: And there it is! The Bulldogs will play for the SEC title again with a 34-17 win over Kentucky.

6:48 p.m.: That should do it. Kentucky’s Benny Snell fumbles on fourth-and-1, sealing the deal for Georgia.

6:46 p.m.: Kentucky getting lots of dink-and-dunk plays, driving down to the Georgia 22 with 1:45 remaining.

6:45 p.m.: Terry WIlson hits Asim Rose after veering left for 12 yards to the Georgia 48.

6:42 p.m.: Lynn Bowden Jr. takes the kickoff out to the Kentucky 36 and was a shoestring tackle away from geting a lot more. Kentucky has 3:25 left to tie things up.

6:40 p.m.: Rodrigo Blankenship drills it down the middle again from 38 yards out to make it 34-17 Georgia. It’s pretty much over.

6:38 p.m.: Third-and-10 again, this time from the 19. This time, Georgia’s stuffed for a 2-yard loss. Kentucky uses a timeout with 3:34 remaining.

6:34 p.m.: Wow. Georgia projected a Fields keeper the entire way and Kentucky still gave up a 10-yard gain for a first down. Georgia still driving with 5:30 remaining.

6:33 p.m.: Justin Fields in at quarterback.

6:31 p.m.: Interesting play call there. Jake Fromm goes for a touchdown in the end zone but it’s broken up, stopping the clock with 5:55 remaining on third-and-9 from the 28. Big play coming up.

6:26 p.m.: Georgia gets a first down heading into an injury timeout, receiver Jayson Stanley gets a 34-yard gain out to the Kentucky 29. Bulldogs definitely don’t need to pass anymore but Kentucky cannot give up a score here.

6:20 p.m.: Touchdown Kentucky! Terry Wilson hits three straight passes of 18, 13 and 31 yards, the last one a fantastic touchdown pass (that was nearly intercepted) to Asim Rose! It’s 31-17 Georgia, but can Kentucky claw their way back into it with nine minutes left?

6:18 p.m.: Woof. Georgia’s Monty Rice sacks Wilson for a loss of 13 yards. Second-and-23 upcoming.

6:16 p.m.: Terry Wilson hits a couple of nice passes of 11 and 15 yards to Tavin Richardson. Wildcats driving at Georgia’s 49.

6:15 p.m.: Touchback on the ensuing kickoff. Kentucky will take over at its 25 down 21. Need to have something here.

6:13 p.m.: The Bulldogs are backed up five yards after a false start, but Rodrigo Blankenship sails it through from 23 yards out to make it 31-10 Georgia with 11:44 left to play.

6:11 p.m.: Two plays later, Georgia has it first-and-goal from the 4. But Kentucky holds tight, forcing a field goal attempt after stopping them twice from the 1-yard line. Wildcats’ defense definitely not giving up.

6:07 p.m.: Third-and-1 from the Kentucky 17, Justin Fields gets a 3-yard gain to the 14. Georgia moves onward.

Third quarter: Georgia 28, Kentucky 10

6:01 p.m.: Next play, Elijah Holyfield runs to the right for 16 yards — doesn’t look like the run game will suffer much. Justin Fields is in at quarterback.

6 p.m.: First play of Georgia’s next drive, freshman right guard Cade Mays is injured.

5:54 p.m.: Not all good news for Kentucky: Starting offensive lineman Bunchy Stallings is called for a 15-yard unsportsmanlike penalty after smacking an official in the stomach after Snell’s touchdown. He’s ejected from the game.

5:53 p.m.: Two plays later, Benny Snell drags a defender 9 yards into the end zone to make it 28-10. That gives him 1,008 yards this season. Assuming that holds, he’ll become the first player in Kentucky history with three consecutive 1,000-yard rushing seasons. It’s 28-10, Georgia.

5:52 p.m.: Next play, Terry Wilson hits Lynn Bowden on a swing pass for 19 yards down to the Georgia 14 — the Wildcats’ biggest play of the game by far.

5:38 p.m.: The Wildcats get some of it back on the next two plays, but they’ll punt on fourth-and-5 from the 30-yard line.

5:37 p.m.: Yeesh. Terry Wilson is called for intentional grounding on the Wildcats’ first drive. Second-and-17 upcoming.

5:31 p.m.: Jake Fromm sells the handoff on the zone read for a 4-yard gain on third-and-2. Georgia is now driving first-and-goal from the 4-yard line.

5:30 p.m.: Uh-oh. Looks like Kentucky safety Darius West will get tossed for targeting. He led with the crown of his helmet when tackling D’Andre Swift behind the line after he was already wrapped up by a Kentucky defender. Another 15 yards for Georgia, down to the 14-yard line.

5:27 p.m.: Wow, Elijah Holyfield with a 30-yard run up the left sideline to the Kentucky 29.

5:26 p.m.: Second-and-8, Jake Fromm hits Riley Ridley for a 17-yard gain to the 41 after the latter brings a would-be tackle. Dawgs rolling early in the second half.

5:23 p.m.: Brian Herrien takes the ball to the Georgia 22-yard line, where the Bulldogs will start the second half.

Halftime: Georgia 14, Kentucky 3

5:03 p.m.: Wow. Georgia is driving deep into Kentucky territory, but Georgia coughs the ball up for the second time today after a botched handoff between Fromm and D’Andre Swift. And who else recovers but Kentucky linebacker Josh Allen?

5:01 p.m.: Three straight complete passes to Riley Ridley (4 yards), D’Andre Swift (17 yards) and Terry Godwin (8 yards) gets Georgia down to the Kentucky 30, right inside Rodrigo Blankenship’s range for a field goal.

5 p.m.: Jake Fromm rushes for two yards on second-and-1, but a facemask gives the Bulldogs another 15 yards. Bulldogs driving at their own 41.

4:57 p.m.: A 52-yard punt gives Georgia the ball at its 15 with 1:22 and a timeout remaining. What can we expect from the Bulldogs?

4:54 p.m.: Georgia only gives up a yard on third down and immediately takes a timeout with 1:36 left. The Bulldogs have one more remaining if they want to mount a last-minute drive.

4:52 p.m.: Kentucky gets the ball back at its 25, but the Wildcats face a must-convert situation on third-and-3 from its 32-yard line with 1:43 left in the half. Benny Snell is on the sideline with what seems like a minor injury.

4:48 p.m.: Touchdown Georgia! D’Andre Swift avoids two tackles and drags another two defenders the last three yards of a 20-yard touchdown run (a holding penalty on the previous play moved it back to the Kentucky 20). He now has six carries for 48 yards and a touchdown.

4:46 p.m.: Fromm rolls right and hits Jeremiah Holloman for a 4-yard gain on third-and-2, down to the Kentucky 13.

4:42 p.m.: Georgia continues driving the ball down the field, getting the ball down to the Kentucky 26 thanks to a 16-yard gainer to Riley Ridley. Of note: Justin Fields comes in for a couple RPO plays, getting 5 yards on two carries. Third-and-2 for Georgia at the Kentucky 17.

4:37 p.m.: Back to the game: D’Andre Swift gets a 8-yard gainer to the 38-yard line on third-and-5, giving the Bulldogs a new set of downs.

4:36 p.m.: Quick aside. Kentucky linebacker’s hand is a club.

4:36 p.m.: Georgia to take over at its 25 after a touchback.

4:34 p.m.: Thankfully, Kentucky still gets some points as kicker Chance Poore boots the 34-yarder right down the middle of the uprights. It’s 7-3 Georgia.

4:34 p.m.: No go for Kentucky’s fourth straight third-down conversion. The Terry Wilson is sacked for a loss of five yards to the 16 by freshman Channing Tindall.

4:31 p.m.: Kentucky has it third-and-4 from the Georgia 6 before a false start penalty by Luke Fortner sends the Wildcats back to the 11. Can Kentucky get another third-down conversion?

4:17 p.m.: Fromm hits Jeremiah Holloman for 20 yards on third-and-4 out to the Kentucky 26

4:13 p.m.: Disaster for Kentucky. Wildcats tight end C.J. Conrad fumbles on the play, and the ball is recovered by Georgia’s Tyson Campbell. During the scrum for the ball, Kentucky’s Logan Stenberg is called for unsportsmanlike conduct, giving the Bulldogs the ball at its 48. Kentucky can’t expect to win this by giving the ball up.

4:11 p.m.: A Georgia pass interference call on Tyson Campbell (in coverage of Ahmad Wagner) nets Kentucky 15 yards. The Wildcats are driving at the Georgia 38.

4:07 p.m.: A Terry Wilson handoff/pass to Zy’aire Hughes goes for 14 yards out to the Kentucky 47.

4:06 p.m.: Kentucky feeds the ball to Benny Snell three times, and it looks like the third time gets him a first down on third-and-1. SEC bringing out the chain gang to measure.

4:03 p.m.: Third-and-1, Georgia gives it to D’Andre Swift … and he’s stopped for a run of no gain by Calvin Taylor, Jr. Georgia punts and gives Kentucky the ball back at its own 23.

4 p.m.: Georgia to take over at its 13.

3:56 p.m.: Kentucky gets a 5-yard gain on first down, but follows that up with a busted trick play (a backward pass to receiver Lynn Bowden Jr.) and Terry Wilson getting sacked by Brenton Cox for an 8-yard loss back to the Kentucky 49. Wildcats forced to punt.

3:54 p.m.: Snell gets another nice run on third-and-1, getting a 7-yard gain to the 41. He follows that up with another, 11-yard gain to the Georgia 48.

3:50 p.m.: Benny Snell starts the Wildcats’ second drive by rumbling off right tackle for a 6-yard gain to the 31. Timeout as Georgia outside linebacker D’Andre Walker is injured on the play.

3:48 p.m.: Two plays later, Georgia faces third-and-goal from the 4-yard line. Jake Fromm (who completed 6 of 7 passes on third down last week against Florida) hits tight end Isaac Nauta in the end zone for the first score of the game. 7-0 Georgia.

3:45 p.m.: Georgia running back Elijah Holyfield veers right, sees a hole open up and takes it 15 yards to the Kentucky 8. Georgia trying to throw a knockout punch early.

3:43 p.m.: And Georgia receiver Mecole Hardman Jr. just put his stamp on this game, returning the Kentucky punt 65 yards to the Kentucky 23-yard line. Wow.

3:42 p.m.: Three plays and four yards later, Kentucky punts.

3:41 p.m.: Kentucky quarterback Terry Wilson hits his receiver 11 yards on the first play from scrimmage out to the 36 — he’ll need to hit several of those passes today to keep the Bulldogs on their toes.

3:40 p.m.: And here we go! Kentucky receives the ball and will take over at its 25.
