Conor McGregor is sensationally being linked with appearing on I’m A Celebrity.
The Notorious lost to Khabib Nurmagomedov in his first UFC fight in almost two years at the weekend and plenty has been said about what could be next for him following the defeat.
Bookmakers have incredibly slashed odds on the MMA star entering this year’s I’m a Celebrity, reports The Mirror.
Ronnie O’Sullivan, Danny Dyer and Aaron Chalmers have all been rumoured to be appearing on the ITV1 show.
And now McGregor is the latest heavyweight name to be linked to the popular reality TV series with bookmakers offering odds of 4/1 on The Notorious heading Down Under next month.
“McGregor’s faced a fair few snakes in UFC, so the celebrity jungle should be a breeze for the Irishman,” said Ladbrokes spokesperson Jess Bridges.
McGregor has been served a suspension from UFC bosses following his controversial defeat.
The Irishman, who was disgracefully attacked by members of Nurmagomedov’s stable moments after his defeat in Las Vegas on Sunday, cannot compete for one month on medical grounds.
That would free up the possibility of the multi-millionaire Dublin native pursuing other career avenues – although he does not see himself as a celebrity.
In an interview with GQ magazine in 2017, he refuted claims he is a star.
“People think I’m a celebrity. I’m not a celebrity. I break people’s faces for money and bounce.”
Fellow fighters David Haye, Chris Eubank and Amir Khan have all enjoyed success on I’m a Celeb in the past.
And one thing is for certain, fans would undoubtedly love to see McGregor enter the jungle!
